ABDMatrix.com is a composite-centric website designed to provide engineering guidelines, information and documentation that facilitates research and serves to promulgate composite engineering best practices to the global community.
Norm Lamar, its founder, MSc. Mechanical Engineering, has extensive experience with design and analysis of composite materials. At Northrop Grumman, he worked on the RQ-4B Unmanned Global Hawk design and was part of the Advanced Development group that worked on several DARPA programs. At United Technologies, he worked on several commercial programs, namely: the Boeing 787 Program; Mitsubishi Regional Jet MRJ and C-Series programs as well as the Airbus A350 XWB program. Their, he designed and analyzed composite material systems for various Nacelle components and developed an engineering design process that utilized advanced numerical optimization to achieve significant component weight savings. He currently works at General Atomics Aeronautical as Senior analyst. Norm was a adjunct lecturer at San Diego State University where he taught a graduate design and analysis course.
